Patented CodeGate® technology also allows you to perform menu reading and other targeted scanning operations at the push of a button. Unlike other multi-interface scanners, the 7580 has four memory banks, each capable of storing all configuration settings for the RS232, keyboard emulation, USB, and IBM 46xx (RS485) interfaces. The automatic cable detection and configuration function also simplifies migration to a new interface, eliminating the need to acquire programming barcodes.
Three additional patented technologies further extend the range of capabilities offered by the 7580 model. Shielded LEDs reduce the risk of excessive illumination common to many area-imaging scanners. CodeSelectTM allows the 7580 scanner to scan up to 7 barcodes with a single light pulse and transmit the data in a predetermined order. TotalFreedom® expands the scanner functions by offering the ability to load formatting, analysis and decoding plug-ins directly on the device rather than on the host system.
