Marco Cuffaro and the history of the Mobile Project company, the leader in the sector of customized solutions for mobile devices

Tell us about your career path

It was 1987 when I started working in the Auto-Id sector and I was in charge of developing mobile software for the large-scale distribution sectors of Logistics, Automotive, SalesForce, and Home delivery. Studying the professional needs of the people in charge of every single sector has allowed me to develop careful and precise knowledge, useful for designing every single device. The focus has always been centered on technological innovations.

When was Mobile Project born?

The company was founded in 2002 to devote itself to mobile software development. Since 2013 we have understood the importance of design and therefore we have turned to hardware solutions, developing the first prototype of the PTL and subsequently the RTLS localization board. 

What is the core business of your company?

I answer you directly. Our core business is certainly linked to the development of specific solutions for both portable devices and management systems with central databases. Furthermore, thanks to the many years of experience of our collaborators, we are able to provide our customers with complete Mobile solutions, regardless of the type or product sector they belong to, offering advice on the most suitable hardware platforms, and in some cases, we design new ones. All tailor-made, according to the customer's needs. 

Here are our fields of application:

  • Mobile workforce solutions (complete solutions for Agents / Representatives, Attempted Sales, technical forces, or in any case itinerant personnel)
  • Point of Sale management (warehouse management, goods entry/exit control, assisted order for "fresh", competition price detection, inventory, storage/loading of high points and lowering for withdrawals, order picking, etc.)
  • "Sinatra": our warehouse management solution through Voice Picking (the same Terminal for voice-picking, goods inbound, lowering, inventory, client/server structure, wireless)
  • Home delivery management
  • Pick and Put to light
  • Real-time location system (RTLS)

What is your main target audience? 

A little while ago, speaking of the many services we offer, I can tell you that we don't have a specifically defined target. Surely, however, the one relating to logistics is certainly the most important. 

A look at the competition, is there an aspect that differentiates you? 

Anticipating innovations. We try to never stop our studies, with continuous analyzes and a careful look at new technologies. But not only that, certainly having an internal department that takes care of all the phases of realization of a new project makes us unique.

Now we come to the choice of joining the Finlogic Group, when did it happen and what were your expectations about it?

We analyzed the Finlogic Group and thought in 2018 that we wanted to take part in this great reality. The focus was certainly centered on the possibility of valuable internal collaborations with all the subsidiaries and professional realities. We expected to be supported and to have access to contacts with important customers and so it was right from the start. 

What are the opportunities for the Group thanks to your entry?

All Finlogic Group companies can diversify by offering their customers innovative software and hardware solutions. A significant step forward that has completed and contributed to consolidating an existing reality that is unique in the sector.
